When the NCAA Final Four tips off on Saturday night in Phoenix, there may be some faces on the court familiar to basketball fans in the DMV.

There will be no shortage of players who hail from Maryland and Virginia during this weekend's showdown, as Purdue, UConn, Alabama, and North Carolina State look to secure their spot in Monday's final.

For the Wolfpack, Fort Washington resident Casey Morsell is looking to help lead NC State to an upset after three years playing at the University of Virginia. He'll be joined by Richmond native Dennis Parker, Jr. a 4-star freshman recruit who played at John Marshall last year.

Freshman Davin Cosby, Jr., who played at the Word of God Christian Academy in Springfield last season, will suit up for the Crimson Tide after playing sparingly off the bench for fourth-ranked Alabama, a team he chose over Virginia and several other blue bloods.

The Huskies will feature the largest contingent of local ballers, led by Davidsonville resident Cam Spencer, who spent three seasons at Loyola-Maryland before transferring to play for the number one overall seed. True freshmen Solomon Ball, of Leesburg and Bristow native Jayden Ross - both of whom played high school ball out of state last year - are also expected to see minutes for the defending champs during the Final Four.

Purdue has largely recruited inside Indiana, and the Boilermakers will be the only team without a taste of the DMV on their roster.

The Final Four kicks off at 6:09 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, when Purdue takes on NC State, followed by UConn and Alabama at 8:49. The games will air on CBS.
